Pvt. Henderson George Diary and Memoirs, Company G

This fine website by Robert Luoma is a new addition to the Civil War web community.   The website project is a work-in-progress, but the complete diary for the year 1863 is published  A great deal of care went into the planning of this website as shown by the attractive pages and ease of maneuvering through the outline of material.  Robert's wife Sally Stokes must be proud as this brave soldier was her ancestor.

The site is much more than a war-time diary, with pre-war and post war memoirs written by Pvt. George that were transcribed by Luoma from a hand-typed document that Henderson George created in 1915 at the age of 77, titled, "The George Manuscript".
